Penguins have a courtship ritual similar to a human engagement ritual, only instead of a diamond, a pebble is used. The male penguin searches for a particularly smooth and round pebble, which he then presents to his chosen female. The females use pebbles in their barren habitat as nesting material. Gifts as a maritime love-language.
These three rings were hand-modeled in wax and cast using the lost-wax casting process. The designs combine the traditional engagement ring design with an interpretation of penguin feathers, and a pebble is set in a prong setting. Each ring is a unique piece, marked accordingly (1/3 - 3/3). Pebbles are not gemstones and therefore do not possess the same hardness, scratch resistance, or heat resistance; they should be handled with care. Shipping will take place on the next business day.
