+1.2 is a collaborative capsule jewelry collection designed by Naula_studio and Carolin Dieler. Project +1.2 is a response to the massive wildfires that occurred in California, USA in 2020. The global temperature on our planet has risen by 1.2 degrees Celsius, and forest fires are just one consequence. Inspired by the cinematic atmosphere of these fires, the designers created pieces to not only raise awareness of climate change, but also question the relationship between humans and nature in the future.
The collection is based on a statement piece that visualizes a breathing device that circulates air between the chest and mouth. A series of wearables repeat the minimal button shape of the mouthpiece and are completed by orange acrylic glass engraved with the amount of carbon dioxide released by the bushfires - 7.7x107-1.35x1010 tonnes of CO2 - a key fact to the concept of “1.2”
