When I received an email in January from dear Maxima, who writes for the Berliner Zeitung, I was overjoyed. She asked for some photographic material so that she could include my jewelry in her article for International Women's Day. After two and a half years in Berlin, this makes me so proud and gives me a feeling of having truly arrived here. It turned out to be an incredibly lovely article, and I couldn't be more grateful for this platform.
The current global economic situation is, of course, difficult, and small designers and artisans are naturally the first to feel the uncertainties, reduced purchasing power, and austerity measures. All the more wonderful that Maxima and the Berliner Zeitung are shining a spotlight on four designers from Berlin with this article "Women to the Fore!" I share the page with the amazing designers Marie-Louise Müller, Christiane Schwambach and Plaid-à-Porter.
Handmade jewelry made from precious metals is a luxury good and not a necessity, yet it creates lasting value, holds memories and emotions, and every day I am so grateful and inspired that this is the profession I get to practice!
